About
My name is Mark Kreslins and I started The Frog in the Kettle, primarily, because while only a fable, there is some accepted truth behind the idea. History certainly records seismic changes in a culture, but that’s not what has happened in America. No, the departure from a “traditional” society has been gradual. Little by little, the elements that bound our country together have been chipped away, thus the Frog in the Kettle dilemma. The real question is: will we jump out of the kettle or be consumed by the ever heating water in it?

I’m just a simple phone book conservative. I’m an evangelical Christian holding a transcendent truth world view and a small business owner employing ten people. On the family side, I’m a husband to a wonderful wife of 22 years and father to four beautiful children. Being a husband and father have been two of the greatest experiences of my life.
Political
In my past life, I spent a couple of years on congressional campaigns and as a Legislative Assistant with a couple of different Members of Congress; I learned how legislative sausage was made and it ain’t pretty. Since that time on the “Hill”, I’ve been a follower of all things political. Economics is the life blood of politics and much of my attention is spent reading and reading and reading about how we spend money. I don’t pretend to have formal training in economics, but does the average American need it with the mess the formally trained have gotten us into?
The bottom line is, racking up $105 TRILLION of debt as a nation is unsustainable; its a no-brainer. So, my commentary will have a substantial amount of economic opinion interwoven into it. How we got here and how we survive when it all comes crashing down.
Times are changing rapidly and the heat is getting turned up. As events warrant or issues appear, I’ll be jotting down my two cents for what it’s worth.
